A meeting of the Galway City Joint Policing Committee (JPC) will take place on Thursday, February 29th.
The Joint Policing Committee was established under the Garda Síochána Act 2005 and includes members of An Garda Siochána, Elected Members of Galway City Council, Oireachtas Members representing Galway City, representatives from the community and voluntary sector and officials of Galway City Council.
The function of the Committee is to serve as a forum for consultation, discussion and recommendations on matters affecting the policing of the Galway City area.
In advance of this JPC meeting, GCCN will hold a Community Safety Thematic Group meeting at 2.30pm on Tuesday, February 20th on Zoom (register here). This GCCN meeting is open to all members and interested individuals and it will be an opportunity to bring any community safety issues to the GCCN representatives.
The Galway City Community Network Representatives on this committee are Cameron Keighron, John Cleary, John Rabbitte, Nicola Tierney and Tommy Flaherty (check all GCCN representatives here).
