Public Sector Duty – LECP Flagship Four

Equality and Rights in Action Project

Galway City is a frontrunner in relation to supporting the implementation of the Public Sector Duty, a legal obligation on all public bodies to promote equality, prevent discrimination and protect the human rights of their employees, customers, service users.

Galway City Community Network, together with partner organisation Galway City Partnership and with the support of Galway City Council, continue to work towards building the collective capacity and engagement of rights holders through the development of a Civil Society Panel.

LECP Sustainable Development Goals Working Group – LECP Seed Nine

Action for Equality

In what is an innovative, cross-sectoral approach to making the UN Sustainable Development Goals visible in Galway City, GCCN coordinates the LECP Sustainable Development Goals Working Group that includes members from civil society organisations, agencies and Galway City Councillors.

GCCN continues to work on the implementation of the LECP in collaboration with a range of partners and manages the LECP Action for Equality Co-ordinator, who is supported by funding from Galway City Council.
