On Saturday, 16th May 2020, Galway City Council has issued a Local Roadmap for Reopening Society & Business.

The Government Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business, which sets out how the COVID-19 restrictions will be lifted, came into effect from Monday 18th of May with Phase 1.
To align with this national plan, Galway City Council has developed a local roadmap outlining the phases for the reopening of key local authority services in Galway City.

The phased reduction of restrictions commencing with Phase 1 will include the allowance of small groups to meet outdoors – including meetings of up to four people not of the same household while maintaining strict social distancing. As a result, a number of amenity areas and outdoor facilities which had been closed or restricted up until now will begin to re-open gradually.
The proposed list of facilities can be found online in the Galway City Council Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business May 2020.pdf.
