Draft Climate Adaptation Strategy 2019- 2024 for Galway City

Written observations or submissions regarding the Draft Climate Adaptation Strategy 2019‐2024, Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Screening Report and Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Report are invited from members of the public and other interested parties.

The Draft Climate Adaptation Strategy sets out how the Council will lead the journey to a Climate Resilient Galway City and work to reduce our exposure to climate risks and capture new opportunities. The Draft Strategy includes a range of actions across four operational themes: Critical Infrastructure & Buildings, Natural & Cultural Capital, Water Resources & Flood Management and Community Services.

All GCCN members are invited to contribute to the submission that Galway City Community Network will be lodging.

Otherwise, individual submissions can be made as follows:

Where to find the Draft Climate Adaption Strategy documents?
The Galway City Council Draft Climate Adaption Strategy, the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Screening Report and Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening Report, are available for inspection during normal office opening hours at the following locations from 11th July 2019 to 9th August 2019 inclusive, between the hours of 9:00 am to 4.00 pm:

• Planning Office, City Hall, College Road, Galway.
• Ballybane Library, during normal opening hours.
• Galway City Library, during normal opening hours.
• Westside Library, during normal opening hours.
