The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation is conducting a Public Consultation to inform the delivery of guidance on remote working for both employers and employees.
The Remote Work in Ireland research paper, published in December 2019, found there is a need for national guidance for employers and employees seeking to engage with remote working solutions. Following its publication, DBEI committed to the delivery of this guidance.

The Department is now seeking written submissions on the key areas of need for guidance on remote working from employers and employees. These submissions will inform the production of official remote working guidelines this year.

As you are aware, much has changed since the publication of Remote Work in Ireland In response to the unprecedented number of people working from home as a result of COVID-19, DBEI has published a webpage on Guidance for Working Remotely during COVID-19 detailing where information can be found on each of these areas.

The public consultation aims to identify how the existing guidance can be built upon, and what additional areas need to be addressed in order to support business and employees engaging in remote working long-term. Full details are available on the DBEI website.

Stakeholders are invited to share their views by making a written submission by 7th August via:
