Submissions on the Draft Strategic Policy Committees’ Scheme 2019- 2024 are now invited by Galway City Council.
All GCCN members are invited to contribute to the submission that Galway City Community Network will be lodging.
If you wish to send us your comments please contact communications@gccn.ie before Tuesday, 23rd July.
Otherwise, individual submissions can be lodged with the a/Senior Executive Officer, Corporate Services, Galway City Council not later than 4.00pm on Friday, 23rd August 2019.
Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs) consider matters connected with the formulation, development, monitoring and review of policy for Galway City Council. The membership of SPCs is made up of City Councillors and external representatives from local sectoral interests. Following the Local Elections, a new scheme is now proposed for the next five years.
The five Strategic Policy Committees (SPCs) proposed cover the following areas of activity:
1. Housing & Social Inclusion
2. Planning
3. Economic, Community & Cultural Development
4. Transportation
5. Climate Action, Environment, Recreation and Amenity
Following the adoption of the SPC Scheme by Galway City Council, the nomination of Sectoral representatives to the Strategic Policy Committees will be undertaken.
