Women’s Aid, the national organisation supporting victims of domestic violence have created a poster outlining all of the support points for anyone who may be in unsafe and abusive homes.  Included there is a website for details on your local services as well as the Male Advice Line. The poster can also be downloaded here.

Public Awareness Campaign on
Domestic Violence during COVID-19

A major new TV, Radio and Social Media Campaign tackling the serious issue of domestic violence in the context of COVID-19 measures was launched on April 15th. The campaign seeks to reassure victims that services are ‘still here’, and that victims are being prioritised.


It is important to know that the 2km restrictions on movement do not apply to a person escaping from a risk of harm or seeking to access essential services.

BRIGHT SKY IRELAND APP:

Additional information can be found on “Bright Sky Ireland”. Bright Sky Ireland is a free app available on Google Play and Apple App Store. The app connects victims of domestic and sexual abuse to advice and support services across the country. It enables users to locate their nearest support centre by searching their area and provides information about different forms of abuse such as domestic abuse, sexual violence and harassment.   It also provides a journal to record incidents of abuse by text, video, voice recording or photography.
