Galway City Council through the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) invites applications for funding from interested Community Groups / Organisations under the Community Enhancement Programme (CEP) for 2018.
Under the programme grants will be provided towards capital projects to enhance facilities in disadvantaged areas. Applications should relate to one or more key priority areas identified in the Galway City Local Economic & Community Plan 2015 – 2021 which can be viewed on line here
The programme can fund or partially fund larger scale projects to address disadvantage. Some funding is ring-fenced to provide small capital grants of €1,000 or less. This is aimed at assisting grassroots community projects to get off the ground.
The funding covers capital projects only and should demonstrate added value. The following provides a non-exhaustive list of capital projects that could receive funding under the programme:
- Development/renovation of community centres
- Once off maintenance of premises. This does not include regular routine maintenance
- Community amenities
- Youth clubs or facilities
- Sports/recreation facilities
- Improvements to town parks and common areas and spaces
- CCTV equipment
- Public realm improvements
- Play/recreation spaces
- Energy efficiency type projects
