An Mheitheal Rothar
An Mheitheal Rothar is part of An Mheitheal Comhshaol, a not-for-profit Cooperative which works to encourage and nurture a culture of sustainability by establishing practical, ethically motivated facilities and social hubs, which foster and support community strength and resilience and promote the social, health and environmental benefits of cycling, reuse and other sustainable practices.
They do this through work training, education, work placement and employment opportunities for people in marginalised communities, particularly in bicycles and the circular economy. They also work to support and encourage community and environmental activism for radical change which is not being delivered by our political institutions.

Conservation Volunteers Galway
Conservation Volunteers Galway aims to protect and enhance our natural heritage through volunteer participation in practical conservation projects. Enthusiastic amateurs working typically once a month on various outdoor tasks for public benefit. Tree/hedgerow planting, seashore clean-ups, wildflower meadow development, woodland path maintenance and much more, to protect, maintain access to and promote awareness of natural heritage with biodiversity value.

Galway Energy Co-operative
Galway Energy Co-operative commenced operation in 2018 and aims to be an advocate for providing clean, renewable energy and services for Galway city and the surrounding area. The group is a member of SEAI’s Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC) Initiative which involves a large number of similar energy Co-operatives starting up around the country being supported by SEAI.

The Galway Waterways Foundation (GWF) is a non-profit company limited by guarantee established to celebrate, maintain, and develop the rivers and canals in Galway city for the benefit of residents, visitors and the natural environment.
GLUAS
GLUAS is a group that wants to see a light rail system for Galway city to solve traffic congestion, reduce our emissions and improve quality of life.
Tuatha of Terryland Forest Park
As a result of community campaigning, the Terryland Forest Park was established in early 2000 as a “People’s Park” where all sectors of society would work together to develop a unique urban forest in the heart of Galway city.
Tuatha of Terryland Forest Park (Páirc Foraoise Thuatha na Tír Oileáin) is the former Terryland Forest Park Alliance.
Tuatha of Terryland Forest Park are looking to ensure that the 70 hectares riverine parkland achieves its original objective of becoming a native tree forestry, a wildlife sanctuary, a location for arts events, a facility for the utilisation of traditional rural skills/crafts such as drystone-walling, coppicing and organic gardening, an outdoor classroom for schools, a outdoor research laboratory for third level colleges, a recreational amenity and the hub for the development of a network of city-wide ecological corridors and pedestrian/cycling greenways.

Ability West provides services and supports to 600 children and adults with intellectual disability and comorbidities in 60 centres located across Galway City and County. The mission of Ability West is to empower people with disabilities to live self-directed lives in an equal and inclusive society.
Abortion Access Campaign West (AAC West)
Abortion Access Campaign West (AAC West) is a women’s collective seeking to ensure that those who need abortion care receive it in a respectful and caring environment that meets their needs.
AAC West are currently working on sharing information on access to abortion, the inclusion of safety zone legislation, adequate sexual health education in our schools and free contraception.

Africa United Galway aims to be a unified voice of Africans living in Galway, empowering and supporting Africans in the community.
ARD Family Resource Centre
ARD Family Resource Centre supports community development, families and individuals in the area. The centre is open to the public from Monday to Friday and is based in Doughiska, opposite Lidl supermarket. Over 80 courses/classes/clinics take place here each week.

Ballinfoile Castlegar Neighbourhood Centre
Ballinfoile Castlegar Neighbourhood Centre (BCNC) believe in providing the local community with the opportunity to develop and grow through the provision of facilities and the facilitation of essential services.
BCNC’s state of the art Centre houses a number of meeting, sporting, and health & fitness facilities. Through these facilities various groups and organisations provide essential services to the local community of Ballinfoile, Castlegar & environs.
Ballybane Taskforce
Brothers of Charity Physiotherapy Department
The Brothers of Charity Physiotherapy Department, as part of multidisciplinary teams, provide support services to people who avail of BOC Services Galway and their families. They provide assessments, recommendations and therapy to a wide range of people and age groups, in a variety of settings. People referred for physiotherapy within the services may have specific physical or intellectual disabilities, such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, chromosomal or genetic conditions. Other people referred may have developmental and gross motor delays, co-ordination and balance difficulties. Some people may have difficulties with walking or require intervention post-surgery or following a fracture.

Brothers of Charity Services Connect Programme is an inclusive, progressive organisation committed to the people it supports and their right to lead full and valued lives as equal citizens. The Connect Programme supports people with intellectual disabilities to make new friends and establish connections with people in their local communities.
Cheshire Galway
Cheshire Galway provides a range of support services to people with both physical and neurological conditions in their homes, in residential centres, in supported accommodation and in stand alone respite facilities. The aim of Cheshire Galway is to provide quality, person-centred services, which facilitate people with disabilities to live a life of their own choosing.

The output of the station is diverse and eclectic, reflecting the tastes of its target audience, who are the people both listening to and participating in the production of the programming.
Foróige Galway
Foróige purpose is to develop and implement a youth education programme complementary to the home, school and work to enable young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and in the development of society. Galway Rowing Club are a rowing club based in Woodquay Galway. The membership of the club ranges from juniors ( boys and girls from age 12 ) to Masters (male and female ranging in age to 75). The club aims to welcome male and female juniors and adults to participate in the sport of rowing on the River Corrib. The objective of the club is to introduce people to the joy of rowing on the River Corrib and this is a skill they can use throughout their lives.

Mervue United Football Club
Mervue United AFC was formed in 1960 by a small group of Mervue locals. The club has grown from then to be one of the biggest in the West of Ireland and fields over 25 teams in both male and female Galway District League competitions and Connacht and national FAI and SFAI competitions.
Migraine Association of Ireland
The Migraine Association of Ireland (MAI) is a registered charity and established as a company limited by guarantee. MAI provides support, advice and reassurance on a range of migraine issues while promoting awareness on these issues to migraineurs, health professionals, policy makers and the general public. The Association seeks to empower and optimise the quality of life of people with migraine and other headache disorders through creating awareness, providing information and support and promoting research and treatment.
Music for Galway
Music for Galway (MfG) is the leading platform for top quality international classical music performances in Galway and the West of Ireland. Since its foundation in 1981 it has consistently provided a diverse and stimulating season of concerts, from solo recitals to chamber music performances, operatic productions and orchestral galas.
Through the work of Artistic Director, Finghin Collins; Executive Director, Anna Lardi Fogarty; and its dynamic Board; MfG continues to attract the cream of classical talent from Ireland, Europe and across the globe to captivate audiences in a variety of venues in the West of Ireland. For Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture MfG will launch CELLISSIMO a new triennial international cello festival 25th April to 3rd May.

Port of Galway Sea Scouts is a vibrant, energetic Scouting group in Galway City, providing land and water-based adventures for children and young adults on the sea and mountains. The group aims to develop young people through the Scouting Method.
Quest Brain Injury Services
Quest Brain Injury Services is a community rehabilitative service for people who have sustained an acquired brain injury (ABI). Part of the National Learning Network, Quest is funded by the HSE and caters for people in the Galway, Mayo and Roscommon regions. The service is available to brain injury survivors between the ages of 18 and 65 years of age.
Rahoon Family Centre
Rahoon Family Centre is a community-based project with charitable status committed to providing a quality service to support young people and their families for over 20 years. The Centre’s aim is to provide learning opportunities that enhance social and educational skills to ensure the equality of outcomes, for children and youth in the local community.
Rietumkrasts, Galway Latvian Support Group
Rietumkrasts, Galway Latvian Support Group aims to preserve and develop the ethnic, linguistic and cultural identity of the representatives of the Latvian Diaspora and to present Latvian culture, traditions and dances to the Irish society.
Rockfield Park Residents Association
Rockfield Park Residents Association seek to help maintain and improve the environment, appearance and community facilities of Rockfield Park. In order to do this, the Association is committed to representing the views of all residents of the Park. Roscam Doughiska Men’s Shed was set up in January 2021 and serves the area of Roscam, Doughiska, Ballybrit, Coolagh, Castlegar, the Tuam road, Merlin Park, Rosshill, Ballybane, Curragreen, Ardaun and Gurrane.

SCCUL Enterprises is a registered charity set up by but independent to St. Columba’s Credit Union, Galway in 2002. As a not for profit, social enterprise, SCCUL aims to champion societal change by promoting community, enterprise, wellbeing and social inclusion.
Special Heroes Ireland
Special Heroes Ireland supports families with children who have special needs, additional needs, life limiting or chronic illness and disability in Galway city & county. It was formed to support children who spend extended periods of time in a medical facility and their families through fun and recreational activities. Special Heroes Ireland aim to enable the child and siblings to overcome the many negative effects of the illness and the extended periods of separation.
St James’ Ladies Football Club
St James’ Ladies Football Club aims to promote Ladies Gaelic Football in the parishes of Renmore, Mervue, Ballybane and the Good Shepherd (Doughiska, Roscam, Ardaun).
Stay-At-Home Parents Association
Stay-At-Home Parents Association Parents is an advocacy group for unpaid carers in the home. Parents at home with children are invisible and undervalued. Stay-At-Home Parents Association seek to bring the important unpaid service to society to light.
The Galway Buskers’ Community
The Galway Buskers’ Community aim to bring the busking community and public together in celebration of street arts. For buskers (street musicians/entertainers/artists), members of the public and other interested parties to come together, communicate and share all the latest info and ideas about busking in Galway.
Theatre Room Galway
Theatre Room Galway aims to provide a monthly showcase of one act plays that emphasises community involvement and the creation of an inclusive environment for artistic expression, regardless of experience. Each showcase is free to the public, and takes place in a different location each month. Theatre Room Galway aims to perform in non-conventional spaces and to reach audiences that may not usually visit a conventional theatre space. Participants are encouraged to take part in directing, acting, and writing plays.
Third Space Galway
Third Space Galway TSG (est. 2013) is a Galway-based, interdisciplinary Arts research initiative. Acting as an interface between arts, ecology, community and cultural practices, TSG aim to actively explore pathways to a more regenerative culture and viable future, tackling climate change, biodiversity loss, and restoring ecosystem function where the way we live expresses the connection and interdependence of community, culture, ecology, and environment.
Túath Housing
Túath Housing aim to provide long-term, safe, quality housing at best value whilst locally building mixed, sustainable communities. Túath is primarily a service organisation, housing people in need and managing homes whilst responding to, engaging with and involving local people to make social housing work.
Westside Men’s Club

Westside Resource Centre is a community based not-for-profit organisation with charitable status. The Centre’s principal aim is the betterment of the community through the work to empower and encourage local people and local groups – particularly those experiencing disadvantage – to participate in the development of their own community.

Galway Contact is an organisation for older people which works to relieve loneliness and feelings of isolation among the elderly through its befriending service. Galway Visually Impaired Activity Club are a group that organizes different activities for visually impaired and blind people living in Galway. The Club aims to tackle social isolation as well as promoting community participation.
Glór Age Action
Glór is the Irish word for voice and the Age Action Glór groups were set up to enable older people to make their voices heard amongst decision makers. The groups meet on a monthly basis in Dublin, Cork and Galway to discuss the issues impacting on older people in their community.

Independent Living Movement Ireland ILMI are working collectively to create an Independent Living Movement in Ireland led by disabled people, promoting a rights-based social model of disability, challenging a charity/medical view of disability. ILMI are working towards the removal of societal barriers that prevent active equal participation of disabled people, challenging the denial of people’s rights and the promotion of the philosophy of Independent Living.
Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children
The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC) is Ireland’s national child protection charity. ISPCC’s mission is to make the protection of children everyone’s priority.
The ISPCC provides a range of services directly to children and families, and advocates for change to enhance the lives of children in Ireland. It is funded through fundraising and through funding provided by government agencies for the delivery of specified services.

Le Chéile Gym provides cost-accessible gym classes to people with varied residency status in Ireland, including 100% subsidised gym classes for those in the international protection application process. Le Chéile Gym’s vision is to create integration between all members of the community through the vehicle of exercise, mental wellness, nutrition and healthy living. Le Chéile Gym’s mission is to come together as a community to address inequities in wellness and create fitness spaces where all people, regardless of residency status, skin colour, gender identity, body type or life story can be well.

Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland (MS Ireland) is the only National Organisation providing information, support and advocacy services to the MS community. MS Ireland works with people with Multiple Sclerosis (PwMS), their family members, carers and a range of key stakeholders including health care professionals, students and anyone with an interest in MS.
Muscular Dystrophy Ireland
Muscular Dystrophy Ireland MDI aims to provide information and support to people with neuromuscular conditions and their families through a range of support services. MDI’s objective is to promote through practical empowerment, independent living for people with the condition muscular dystrophy.
MDI supports advocating for services to enable people with neuromuscular conditions to fully participate in society and to live a life of their own choosing. MDI also aims to support and fund research into neuromuscular conditions.

Places of Sanctuary Ireland (PoSI ) is a network of groups in local communities which share the objectives of promoting a culture of welcome and inclusiveness across Irish society for those seeking International Protection in Ireland. Their University of Sanctuary initiative encourage and celebrate the good practice of universities, colleges and institutes welcoming refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants into their university communities in meaningful ways.
The University of Sanctuary steering committee at NUI Galway also includes the Irish Traveller community in its remit, with a focus on the promotion of Irish Traveller culture as an innate and positive element of Irish society, and to address the low levels of participation at second and third-level education amongst Irish Travellers.

Shining Light Galway
Shining Light Galway provide assistance to minority groups who are affected by poverty and are tackling issues through direct actions such as delivery of food rescued from waste (in conjunction with Food Cloud), redistribution of unwanted furniture items, free books for kids, getting people outside for a walk and a chat, support with mental health needs and assistance to marginalised families.

Westside Age Inclusion
Westside Age Inclusion co-ordinates a range of services in the local area to people over the age of 55 years. These include practical work such as changing light bulbs, painting and decorating, gardening, and adult education. A laundry service is also available.
