Galway City Council is about to commence preparation of a Plan for the Castlegar area in consultation with local residents.
The purpose of the plan is to reinforce the identity of Castlegar through protection and enhancement of the existing character and amenities of the area and to build on the existing assets of the community.
The plan will examine key issues such as traffic, walking, cycling, heritage, community facilities and local services.
To commence the plan preparation process, a short questionnaire is being circulated this week to all households in the area. All local residents are invited to complete the questionnaire which seeks their opinions on Castlegar.
Completed questionnaires can be dropped off at location collection points –
- Castlegar National School,
- Castlegar Church,
- Murphy’s Centra
- Tesco Express
or can be dropped in or posted to City Hall, College Road, Galway by Monday 16th December 2013.
The questionnaire can also be completed online at www.galwaycity.ie
On Tuesday 14th January, there will be a Castlegar Area Plan Public Information Sessionfrom 2pm – 8pm in the Menlo Park Hotel where the results of the questionnaire will be on display and where you can meet and talk with the City Council Area Plan Team.
Consultation will be ongoing during the plan preparation process. It is important that all local residents and interested parties get involved and express their views.
